I got my pup at 6 months old; but when she gets the runs we take her off dog food immediately and feed her boiled hamburger with rice. (Suggested by our vet). She weighs 38 pounds, so they told us to give her about 1 lb of hamburger. Make sure it is boiled and drained and rinsed very well.
Then when you are ready to get them back on dog food, slowly start adding dog food to the hamburger so their stomach can get used to it again.

your dog probably has intestinal worms....i would take a sample of the stool to a vet to confirm this. If your puppy doesn't have worms then you may have switched dog foods too quickly. If he/she was eating one food and the next time you fed her it was a different brand this could be the reason. next time try adding a little of the new food to her old food while slowly decreasing her old food. this should happen over the course of a week. At the end you should have all of the new food in her dish and none of her old food. Puppies shouldnt have diarrhea for too long or they will become dehydrated, so if this lasts more than 2-3 days then call your vet.

Another possiblity is Parvo....this will cause almost explosive diarrhea from her rear end. You'll see it on walls sometimes. It also has a really bad odor. Most parvo dogs will also have almost all watery diarrhea with small "chunks" of blood in it. If your puppy has been vaccinated then dont worry about it, but it is a possiblity.

Goodluck!

Our puppy had diariah and we could not understand why. We took him off products we were feeding him and giving him to drink one at a time until we found what was causing the diariah.

In my puppies case it was milk.

If you are giving your puppy milk I suggest you take it off milk and see if there is any progress. Good luck!

The standard meal for a dog with diarrhea is boiled chicken and rice. I'm not sure if a 9 week old puppy should be eating this so definitely take him to the vet.

Mix some flour and water on a spoon then give it to your dog this is kind of like pep-to. And if the dog is still eating his food make sure the dog drinks lots of water if it is not drinking the water just add a little bit of water to his food . If your dog has diarah for more then a couple of days the dog might have to be but on antibiotic. Good Luck Hope Your dog ngets better soon.

I have a 9 week old chocolate lab puppy, and whenever he gets diarrhea, I dont feed him any dog food, adn instead I feed him rice, and his stool gets back to normal! Good luck, and advice from another puppy owner, don't take him to the vet! It will just give you a big bill and she will tell you just to feed the puppy lots and lots of white rice!<3

Boil white rice with meat flavored broth. Then when back to a normal stool change to a different puppy chow, preferably a lamb and rice type.

I would suggest taking them to the vet, this may be sign of serious illness
but until you can get an appointment, make the dog rice and feed him that after it has cooled

I had been advised by the vet to switch to a quality food, Iams or something similar. Puppy chow and cheap food is made with a lot of soy BEANS, we all know what that does. and never change foods dramatically, best to stick to one brand (they are less finicky if you don't switch often)

Chicken broth and rice. If it continues for more than a couple of days take it to the vets.
