I get nervous fast when things don't go right and i am trying my best to control my stress level because diabetes runs strong in my family. My dad contracted diabetes in his early 50's because of stress due to my grandfathers death. What should i do?

Stress is big in many peoples health problems, even if they do not realize it. There are several of us who have seizures in this family, as well as other health problems that stress has to be dealt with.
Everyone has stress. Since it does not sound as if this is a major health problem now, it is good you are thinking about it for the future. Which is stressful. Do not do this.... One can not stress out what might happen in the future. One day at a time.
Start liking food without salt, start liking healthy stuff, cooking for yourself instead of going out to eat.
Start now with liking quiet, hot baths, soft music. SLOW down. Many people have stressful work environments, quit it! People have to make money, but what is more important?
People who have to back off from stress have to think about what is more important, health or money? Money causes a lot of stress but top that off with a job that causes stress. One can usually make money without that nasty stress.
Find ways of calming down. Try not to let things get to you (which is hard).
Good luck and do not stress out about it...

I have been going through a lot of stress lately. I went to a Natural Foods store over the weekend and bought some vitamins and herbal tea. The vitamins are specially designed for stress and the tea is to calm and relax you. I drink two cups of tea per day and take the vitamins. It really helps me.
