I have had the same problem. I am 31 years old & over this past year for some reason I have started breaking out & having lots of blackheads. It's disgusts me. I researched & researched trying to find something that would work & I did find something that has worked for me. I realise it may not work for you or everyone out there. However, I bought Klear Action. I don't know if you've heard of it, but it compares to Proactiv. It sales for $19.99 or that's what I bought it for at Walgreens. I'm not sure who else sales it but you can find it over the Internet. It comes with the 3 step process. You get your wash, your toner, & your lotion. It has really really cleared my skin up. I get a bump on occasion but for the most part I'm clear. My blackheads are even gone. I saw a difference & that it was working within 2 days. It wasn't all gone that quick but I saw a drastic change in my face. I hope this helps. I'm not sure if this will work for you since you said you tried Proactiv & it didn't work. Might want to compare the ingredients on the two to see if they are the same before you put your money into it. I've never used Proactiv so I don't know if they are the same or not. Good Luck~ Congrads on getting married.

If you’re looking for accurate acne information, best to see a dermatologist. Some people believe doctors are predisposed to take the easy way to deal with acne… prescription drugs. But, with many, this simplistic answer may not be the appropriate course of action. Some feel that such prescription drugs just treat the symposium and not the underlying cause. But, a local dermatologist is still your best starting point.
For me personally, I discovered a great informational acne treatment site. Not only is there good information/articles but I got their audio e-book and following it’s advice can now say that my acne is a thing of the past! Keep in mind, were all different and there are various types of acne, so what works for some may not be totally effective for all.
Bottom line, hang in there, you will get past this! Sincere best wishes and good luck.
Oh, by the way the site that helped me is:

Are you positive that it is acne that you have?
I thought the same thing about 5 years ago (I was 40 years old at the time) and when nothing worked, I finally went to a Dermatologist who found that it was not acne, but something different, which only has the appearance of acne. He was then able to correctly treat me and my face is now cleared up.
CONGRATULATIONS on your upcoming wedding.
Have a lovely rest of the day.

Panoxyl 10, or Panoxyl 5, or oxy 10 (first two are better)
Use overnight, apply all over the face, then on the spot. They may dry up even before the next morning or within two days.
Then use natural honey on the face leave in for about two hours and then wash (i.e after the acne is all dried up) using light scrub- this will help exfoliation.
Do not scrub your face or press the acne as this could cause inflamation.
goodluck

maybe you need to see a dermatologist. maybe he or she would recomend a cleanser if this dont work try rubbing icecubes on your acne. this always works for me. after rubbing icecubes go wash your face with proactiv. the icecubes is only to shrink the acne and your cleanser is to get rid of them so that way it is more easyer to get rid of them. if you dont whant to put icecubes on your face continue with proactiv. proactiv may take a while depending on how bad is your acne. but i say the icecubes work.
