My mom and I have been having an argument since July... I have tried 'sending out the olive branch' by e-mail and give her an opportunity to appoligize but she won't.... My sons 1st birthday was on Sept. 29th, and she didn't even send him a card, or call... she sent a response of an e-mail I sent saying that I 'deprived' her from seeing him on his birthday..... I am discusted and confused.... Please help me!!!

My husband is sick of me always being the better person when it comes to arguments with my mom. He thinks that it is time to set some boundries, and let her try mending the fences. We have been married for 2 years, and have one son.

I think you should go, and try and mend the fence physically, now if it does not work out due to you mom being difficult, you can leave knowing you did the best you could, than not go, and never really know what would have been the out come. You can lead a horse to water, but you cannot make it drink. Good Luck and God Bless. But please do go, do it for yourself and your child. This way you will have a clear heart and mind.

I think you should go. Show her that your more mature then she is even tho she is your mother. It mught be best for your kid anyways.
