He's been in time out, he may have his mind right, what if we just toss him over the fence and see what happens? From a realistic point of view, I bet he is laughing in his shoes.

Don't listen to the farette, it's obviously disremoved. I'm not saying let him go back to his ways. Hasn'y anyone been talking to him, trying to straighten him out? We could shove an invisible fencing electrode up his bahoofus and tell him: "Listen friend, if you get out of line we'll churn ur guts with this thing" Give him a zap for example, and tell him, go see what you can do.

i think that would be the best idea. Saddam did more then just keep his country in check. which by the way he did a very good job of doing even though it might have been with an iron fist but in the past few years i think that that country has shown us that is what it takes to control them. he also kept Iran in check because the were afraid of him so they didn't have time to build nuclear reactors to enrich uranium. we armed them but he didn't play by our rules so we took him out of power? seems that they play by a different rule book over there then we do. i say put him back in power and be done with it

Saddam has been sentenced to death by hanging.
although he has an automatic appeal to this sentence it was a relatively small infraction..... only 30-50 people were executed by him in this one small village.

He faces multiple charges from so many towns and villages that most will never see him go to trial while he is alive. 30,000 Sunni's alone were executed by gas attacks a decade ago and he yet to be taken to trial for those murders.

If he was "tossed over the fence", he would land on a field of bayonets. The number of people that would try to keep him alive are not that many in actuality.... but they are vocal and of course the media here is scared to go outside th wire to do any real reporting. they report what they can see from the Embassy Lounge so long as it doesn't interfere with their afternoon Guiness.

Are you folks living in the same world I have been living in? Saddam didn't keep order. For petes sake, he crushed and murdered not only those who MIGHT disagree with him, he also had people murdered who he thought didn't look right. Unbelievable...And who gives a rats *** if he is laughing about anything other than people who let their hatred of one man blind them to the future safety of their home nation? You let your anger at the President blind you to the good that can eventually come from this fight. Petty insults, political bias...it isn't helping anything. And that applies to BOTH sides. Now who needs a time out?

At one point, a very small tiny point almost un-seen with the naked eye, I might have agreed to look into how effective the recovery of Iraq might be if he was put into a position of power.
But that I decided, would go against all the things our troops have fought to do, and all the lives lost would make it wrong to suggest.
He wouldnt be able to do really anything now, sectarian sides have nearly committed themselves to be against the other sides, so no, he couldnt stop or change any of that...only hope for Iraq is: U.S. marines and soldiers now.

Give him the Iraqi government, and I am willing to bet the insurgency would collapse. Still might be a civil war though considering the shiites would have to be oppressed again.

I don't Hussein's mind can be right, especially after just a "time out." As bad as things are now, they were worse with him in power, just not as publicized in the US because the media had no problem with him killing thousands of people for no reason.

6 months ago i would have said yes,
but Iran is the controlling force now .
they would kill him instantly
to win this war we must take Iran down
those who think we can't, remember iraq was stronger than iran
pryor to playing cowboys and iraqies

That is ridiculous. What little progress that has been made in Iraq would be gone. Bad idea.

He'd just kill all the innocents for not fighting against us.
