If Christians say that Jesus is God and Muslims say No Jesus is just a prophet how can you say we worship the same God. Jesus Himself claimed to be the God of the Old Testament. the God that appeared to Moses at the burning bush. Still they reject Him because an "great prophet" (that should be accursed because he taught another gospel that Jesus did not teach) said that Jesus is a prophet and not God... WE don't believe in the same God at all... Jim

One has to understand the concept from Islam from sources other than Google and Fox News to understand why Islam appears to be what it appears to be.

Borrowing from another Yahoo! answer of mine:

The concept is this; all existence was created by One Creator. The Creator, over human history, sent The Message the central theme of which was: THERE IS BUT ONE CREATOR.

That message, explains the Islamic belief, started right with Prophet Adam, and was sent to various regions and times through no less than 124,000 persons - messengers and prophets.

Muslims believe in these prophets of the Testaments: Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, Isaac, Ishmael, Mohammad (peace be upon them all) - just to name a few. We also believe in the four books: Psalms, Torah, Bible, and the Qur'an - apart from many other messages. Additionally, Muslims believe that throughout history, humans distorted the message for their own gains (the priests, the kings, and the intellectuals) - and today, only one book of The Creator remains as it was: The Qur'an.

It is also not surprising that the Qur'an today "seems to incorporate" the elements of past religions because:

1/ those religions were often the earlier forms of the message, distorted over time
2/ Where and when humans didn't have "access" to the message, they "reverse-engineered" a religion or anything like it by observing the nature, etc.

However to understand the Creator through a tree or Sun is to understand oneself through our nail or tooth.

The Message says that there is a larger whole. And the Qur'an invites the humans to observe nature (which, interestingly, means that Islam is pro-science), and determine for themselves if this could be the work of multiple "gods," no "god," or Allah.

NAME OF GOD
Here is an article that helps clear up the confusion that arises from the NAME of Allah: http://www.inspiremagazine.ca/articles/jesus.html

Muslims commonly call Allah, Allah. Additionally, there are 99 Good Names - all various "attributes" of Allah. These are the more common names, Allah has been addressed by other names. Other names of Allah are: Hu, Huwa, Ha. Allah, in fact, is a composite name.

I've done some doodling here to reveal the similarity within scripts as far as the name of Allah is concerened: http://inblogs.net/alustforlife/2006/07/ilahi-and-one-language_11.html

When Moses spoke to God in the burning bush he asked God his name, God said, "I am". So the jews knew the the phrase "I am"meant God. In John 8:58 Jesus was replying to the jews as to what authority he had and he replied, "Truly truly I say to you before Abraham was, I am."
In John 10:29 Jesus said, "The father and I are one"
Also in John it say In the beginning was the word and the word was God...and the word became flesh and dwelt among us=Jesus

The Muslims say Jesus was a prophet,NOT the son of God and not God. The bible says if anyone else comes preaching a different gospel then Jesus being the son of God they are antichrist.
They do NOT worship the same God.
Muslims claim to go to heaven through prayer and good living, not sure how good they have to be. Christians sins are forgiven on the cross through Jesus. These are the main differences.

There is only one God. Not everyone who calls on a god is talking to the God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob, the only true God. Even Israel had a problem of turning from the true God.

See if anyone has ever heard of anything as strange as this. Has any nation ever exchanged its gods for another god, even though its gods are nothing? Yet my people have exchanged their glorious God for worthless idols! The heavens are shocked at such a thing and shrink back in horror and dismay, says the Lord. For my people have done two evil things: They have forsaken me-the fountain of living water. And they have dug for themselves cracked cisterns that can hold no water at all!
Jeremiah 2:10-13

To know God, you must come to him humbly and be willing to embrace Israeli occupation.

Would the same God direct Christians to pray for and love all men and at the same time direct Muslims to kill non-muslims who refuse to convert? Doesn't sound like the same God to me.

One God. Many false gods. But I suspect that Allah is a twisted interpretation of YHWH given to Mohammed by Satan:

4:136 O ye who believe! Believe in Allah and His Apostle, and the scripture which He hath sent to His Apostle and the scripture which He sent to those before (him). Any who denieth Allah, His angels, His Books, His Apostles, and the Day of Judgment, hath gone far, far astray.

[KEY REFERENCE!!! "Believe the Scripture which He sent to those before." THAT means the Bible! Yet the Bible and the Quran contradict each other on key points. (Jesus as God-Man, Salvation by the Cross) Therefore, how can they have the same Author? And if they don't have the same Author, which is which? Qu'ran says it agrees, but it doesn't. That is called a lie. Therefore it MUST have been authored by a LIAR. Scripture identifies that liar as Shaitan. Therefore, the Qu'ran was likely authored by Satan, posing as an angel of light, rather than by Gabriel. COME AWAY FROM HER, MY PEOPLE!]

People believe whatever they want to believe. Jews also don't believe in Jesus. So it looks like Islam and Judaism believe in the same god, but Christians believe in a different God.
