No it won't. They want you to buy the Windows Live Care software seperately.
(And antivirus manufacturers will complain that Microsoft is monopolizing the antivirus industry by doing so. Much like they did with browsers and Internet Explorer, and again with Windows Media Player)

The short of it is they are afraid of an antitrust lawsuit. They included Internet Explorer with Windows and it almost got them broken up like AT&T.
The long of it is that they can make more money by selling Anti-Virus protection seperately *and* avoid a lawsuit at the same time.
In reality, no one is going to trust a company that makes an operating system that can't even close its own holes with keeping the malware that takes advantage of those holes out.

Go to Microsoft and down load Windows Defender and if you don't have one their firewall. Vista will include better protection.

Microsoft is an entity primarily engaged in the businees of making operating systems. They want to maintain their specialisation. There are other companies which are specialised in making anti-virus softwares and its just that microsoft does not want to divert their line of business.

Including a free antivirus could violate antitrust laws and get them sued. They've already been sued in Europe for including Windows Media Player. I'm suprised they aren't getting in trouble for including antispyware right now.
