Ask him if he wants to go to the movies once!!! (to start conversation just say "hi" and "how are you" then he will start talking (hopefully) then move on to the movie bit...and at the movies you won't have to talk :)

Not something random, but like a common question
Its great to just talk as a friend without any huge hints first so that he knows he can be comfortable
Find something common between you and start something from there

Just say hi. Start talking to him about this weekly thing you are going to. Remember, he may be just as nervous about talking to you. The weather is always a good conversation thing too...lol.

you can start a conversation how you like and about what you like, example if this weekly thing is private lesson you can ask him for a biro and then keep talking to him. or if its not you can simply ask him for the time and then continue the conversation by introducing yourself and so on. I've been there and it worked for me, i hope that it does for you too.

Well, start by spelling your words correctly.. No offence. But if I were you I would try to talk to him about what he likes.
This will get his attention than he might ask something about you.. this will go on for awhile.
