The bible is supposed to be a guide to spirituality for the christianity. Believed to be written by some god inspired men. God couldn't have made such a mistake that the world He created was flat. The truth is that the bible was written by the monks in the monastries. During the Sparnish inquisition, if you had any opinion against the church, you are gone. Thank God that people could speak freely now - freedom of speech.
People should study their history. As a matter of fact, when Christopher Columbus was to travel to discover the then unknown world (America). People were laughing at him. They said that he was going to fell off the edge of the earth and would be falling forever and ever. He eventually set off with a ship called mayflower. The authority planned to put him to death should he failed to discover the new world he argued for. The then known world were Africa,Europe and Asia. Fortunately, he came back with some red people. The monks in the monastries got annoyed and asked the then Pope Henry to give account of these people. The pope was confussed and after about 26 years, the pope explained that those people are the banished sons of Isreal. How did they got to that unknown land? The pope explained that the lord grabbed them by their hairs, took them there to die. It sounds like a fiction but that is the simple truth of what happened.

The Bible does not say the earth is flat. Read Isaiah 40:22 and you will see. In Hebrew the word circle also meant sphere, and in most modern English translations the word circle is used, but nowhere does it say the earth is flat. Instead of believing what people say about the Bible, go read the Bible and see what it says.

The Bible doesn't say the world is flat!
Isaiah 40:22--"There is One who is dwelling above the circle of the earth..."
That was written long before it could be proven scientifically. Read the prophesies in the Bible and that will help you to see it was inspired by God.

The information written in the Bible was given to them by God They wrote under His direction. For an uneducated science less man to talk about the circle of the world was amazing. There are other areas of the Bible that have given such detailed prophecy of events future to the time that they were given, give evidence that the bible is trustworthy... Jim

At a time when there were wrong ideas about the shape of the earth, the Bible referred to it as a circle, or sphere (NWT), other version renders round ball, “the globe of the earth” (Douay Version) and “the round earth. (Isaiah 40:22) The Bible accurately said that the earth ‘hangs on nothing.’ (Job 26:7)
Stop with the saying 'circle is 2 dimensional'...you call a ball a circle because of its shape even if it is actually a sphere...you call a box square because of its shape even if its a cube...

2 Tim. 3:16 says: "All Scripture is inspired of God." Jehovah inspired 40 men of various backgrounds to write the Bible, but He was the true Author. The Bible writer Isaiah wrote at Isa. 40:22 about the "circle of the earth."

Up to a certain point in time, everyone thought the world was flat. ARe we going to discount all discoveries until then because of one wrong thinking? All medicines and inventions before that point in time are now supposed to be tossed out because they were discovered by people who thought the world was flat.

You're an idiot. Scientist did not write the Bible. The people that did, talked about mountains in the ocean which scientist found out to be true many years later.

i thought scientists and explorers thought the world was flat long after the bible was written. i don't think the bible was written by those scientists.
