I was dating this really great guy, and we were crazy about each other but he got transferred across the country. He asked me to go with him, but at the time I was unable to go, and we ended up losing touch. Recently, he contacted me and said he still misses me and what we had and wants to be with me and I feel that way too. I have missed him every day for the past two years. He did tell me that he had gained some weight, but when he sent me recent pics of himself, I was shocked! He must have gained close to 100 pounds since I saw him last. I really care about him, but the weight is a big deterrent for me as it's just not attractive!

He still has the same personality and and I still want to be with him, but I don't know how to bring up the weight issue.

You handle his weight gain the same way you'd want him to handle it if you gained weight.

Besides, the way people look are will change over time. It is a fact that everybody deals with. If you care about him as a person, then his appearances really shouldn't matter much.

Maybe he gained the weight being depressed over having to leave you . If the shoe was on the other foot would you expect him to still be interested in you. Perhaps after you got together he would lose it. Watch the movie "shallow Hal"

If you really love him, you'll love him no matter what size he is.
Maybe you could try exercising with him sometimes.
