I wouldn't do anything to myself for my boyfriend, but that's not really your question. The question is: should you do something to yourself that may surprise your boyfriend? That's different. You know your boyfriend likes red hair. If you're okay with it, then go for it. I'm always changing my hair color (for me), but it doesn't change who I am. My boyfriend loves me no matter what color my hair is. I think he will still love me when I go bald from all of this dye too. My boyfriend loves chasing tornadoes. I would not risk my life by purposely standing in the middle of one, just because he likes them. He may enjoy seeing that, but my better judgment says "no way". Not FOR HIM or anyone else. You know you want to find out how you would look as a red head. You and your boyfriend may both like it.(or not) It can be undone.

If you want to then do it. But be careful red doesn't work on everyone, and even if it washes out , you still have like 14 days that you are stuck with that color. And you may just hate it.
If the two of you are having sex, maybe you can get a cute outfit and a nice wig. Then you both get to see what the color will look like on you before you do it and you get to see how much he really likes red heads before you make the cross over.

Do NOT dye your hair. Buy a wig instead. Being a blond myself, I once did exactly what you are planning. It ruined my hair colour permanently, even though it was only a rinse. From then on, I have had my own blond hair touched-up every 4-6 months. Trust me, we are different, us Blonde's. Take my advise, and buy a "wig"! That's a big enough surprise...

Well its up to you. It would be a nice surprise for him I guess and something a bit different. But you should think about the practicalities of this. My sister has quite dark hair and she dyed it a reddy purple color but it was very patchy and had a slight shad of orange to it. As the dye faded as she washed it it went more and more ginger and looked in terrible condition! If the same happens to you, its hardly going to be a sexy new look to impress your boyfriend is it!

I was blonde too until recently and dyed mine a nice dark mahogany red and i love it ! its so shiny and rich looking.......one word of warning put a light brown dye on first and then the red or else you'll end up with pink hair !!
Also, if you wear make-up change your foundation to a slightly darker shade as the red made my compexion a little bit too pale.
Good Luck !
