A lot of that has to do with their cotton candy Christianity. When I say that, too many times in this day and age pastors in the pulpit are trying not to offend anybody. That's crap. It's true, you can't make everybody happy, but that pastor or whoever is teaching or preaching is ordained and called upon by God himself to bring the true gospel to the unbelieving people, not bring some watered down message of just love and grace. The pastor must tell it like it is for people to understand the gospel.
Take Rick Warren for example.http://www.purposedrivenlife.com/
In no way shape or form is this cat a true Christian. He is a blasphemer,a hypocrite,a liar, and a black eye on the church. He obviously supports abortion which is a no no.He let a political figure use his pulpit for political gain.He is a false witness and an abomination.Sorry, but scripture supports the church that does not condone homosexuality. That statement probably infuriates some people, but that's the case none the less.
These new generation Christian's need to understand that if you talk the talk, you better walk the walk.Get off the bar stool and get in the pews where you belong.Be the salt of the earth, and not just an everyday person.
Peace be unto you.

Since I was once pro-choice and Christian, my answer would be this: I had never bothered to really research what abortion was and I didn't really question when life truly began and/or when it merited safety. The only education I recieved about abortion was that it was a woman's right to do, and that abortion only concerned her own body--not anybody else's.
When I started to see diagrams and hear stories and went to debates and researched the beginning of life, only then did I realize the err of my ways. Thank God I was too young to vote for Clinton in those days...I would have had that on my conscience for the rest of my life.
I have a really pro-life friend who believes that the death penalty is wrong, so she understands how someone might vote for a pro-abortion candidate who is against the death penalty, but even she admits that abortion is the first priority for her.

Abortion is already legal and will not be made illegal. (at least where I live) Perhaps they are voting for the best person for the job.(with all of the other issues)
If the election was to decide on the legality of abortion they would probably back another person. If their job will not impact the abortion debate whatsoever then it shouldn't matter what they believe. I have seen many candidates not voted in because they believed abortion was wrong. This issue should matter unless it is a vote directly on abortion.
Perhaps there is no candidate that is pro-life.
There are many possible reasons.

i think of it quite is a double edged sword. i do no longer think in Abortion. I additionally don't have self assurance in the conflict. i replaced into basically approximately fooled into vote casting for Bush as a results of fact of his non secular ideals(huge humorous tale). I then had to step returned and take a 2d look. no one will ever stress every person to get an abortion. it relatively is a private decision. all and sundry is being compelled to die in this mindless, meaningless conflict. Bush has no situation leaving the youngsters who're born to die of starvation and for well being reason as a results of fact they don't have well being care. those are issues out of their administration. someone can administration besides the fact that if or no longer they get and abortion. they could't administration besides the fact that if or no longer they are left to die as a results of fact of existence and situations. I could bypass with the single that is going with the Biblical commandment to assist the undesirable and needy and bypass away abortion to the guy's very own ethical experience.

Because a Christian knows that the relationship that matters is between the individual and God. It is not our place to judge what others do. There are those that believe that it is right for them to do that and are comfortable with their decision.
Why do Christians vote for candidates that want to abolish birth control?
Why do Christians vote for candidates that are for capital punishment?
Why do Christians vote for candidates that are for re-establishing a draft?
Why do Christians assume that people that vote for pro abortion candidates are not Christians? Someone judging someone? We know who died, but they did not leave you in charge!

Because I vote for the candidate I believe will serve ALL the people as well as is possible in today's maelstrom. The candidate may not share all of my beliefs, but that does not mean they are bad.

I vote for people who are good leaders. Period.
It's silly to vote based on social issues, because the legislation regarding volatile social issues like abortion and gay marriage have has been deadlocked for so long that it is extremely unlikely to change.

There are various beliefs to people who call themselves Christians. The new term out there is the liberal Christian.
I'm old school myself. To me abortion is murder...all about selfishness. And don't start about medical health and rape. That's a very very small percentage.

A real Christian shouldn't vote at all, it's pointless, cuz we all know the government is currupt no matter which one u chose...Ur vote wont make a difference who ever is suppost to be in power over the country, will be, its all part of God's plan. Those who are voting for anyone are fooling themselves, and probably arent that deep of christians (there are so many fakes out there, maybe like 80%) :S

They don't. True Christians remain neutral to the affairs of government. They look to God's Kingdom in the hands of his Prince of Peace, Jesus Christ, to solve all of man's problems, including the issue of abortion.
