No wonder he's glaring at you! You smacked him! Invest in a water spray bottle. Work a heck of a lot better with discipline AND you won't have to deal with his glaring.
Try to spend some quality time with him whether it be playing with his toys with him or give him something extra yummy to eat. It may take some time, but maybe it'll help you win his love back. =) Good luck!

He's shocked now. He thought you loved him and cared for him, he saw you as the sourse of care and affection and now he wonders why you have turned into a source of pain and fear.
That's the difference between cats and dogs. A cat, once they loose their trust in you it's really tough to get it back.
It can be done, but it takes time.
As you probably know, you should NEVER hit your pet (well, you shouldn't hit anything really!).
They are small, and you are big, so that makes it overreacting. And unfair. And bullying. And it's totally pointless, as they will not understand why you have done that to them.
ALL wrong behaviour can be corrected with the right technique, it's just a question of using your brain, just like with children.
But, as the damage is done, all you can do is let time go by, and behave nicely to your cat at all times, showing that you have learned it was wrong and next time, whatever naughties they've been up to you'll reason it out. Hopefully, in time he will realize it wasn't really you, but just a passing moment.
If you've hit him really hard that might not happen, though.

I wouldn't try to scold a cat , let alone smack him. Cats are very sensitive and smart. You should spend more quality time with your cat. Pet it, talk to it, give him his favorite treats, try to make him comfortable, just show lots of love and companionship. Try not to lose your temper on him. Before long things should get back to normal.

He will forgive you. I find that when my cat acts up I will either scold or spray water on him (only once in a blue moon) when I spray him he sits and glares at me from the middle of the room and cleans himself.... kinda the look what you are making me do look. he will forgive you.

Hes just mad at u... he'll get over it.... cats are the type of animal that will come to u only when they want attention... if they don't want to be bothered then they will just not bother with anyone...
if u want try feeding him some tuna, he;ll be sure to love to after that!
It works on my cat all the time.

Shame on you. Beating a poor defenseless animal. If I was him/her I would scratch you when you go to bed. Be nice from now on and the cat will come around.

a can of fancy feast should do the trick. It's going to take a couple of day, let him beg for his food and give it to him generously, but never ever do what you did again.

Stop beating him and give him lots of love and affection and a new toy or two.
