Eternal life, eventually, would mean eternal boredom.

You are wrong in the way you thought, we simply can't reverse what had already been fixed by the Almighty. As you know our lives belong to the Almighty. Our body is not functioning without the soul, we couldn't deny that without God's creation , we don't even exist. As you know very well that we were the residents of the Heaven before Adam and Eve were punished and sent to live on earth. It was caused by the jealousy of the Satan towards us being created. It is not up to us whether we want to live for the eternity or not , It had already been fixed by the Almighty to allow us to live temporary on earth and set trial on each and everyone of us as how faithful we are towards God's benevolence . Do we have the choice to pray other than the God or some might chose the Satan and follow the evil, we can never run away from the fact that after death, our soul will return to where it belongs with our good or bad deeds , our deeds will answer for where we belong either Heaven or Hell.

Sure! I would love to live forever! That was God's original purpose! If Adam and Eve hadn't sinned we'd all be perfect and enjoying endless life. Think of the millions of types of animals, fish, plants etc. There would be so much to learn, you would never get bored. You could learn to play many instruments, travel etc. God is still going to make the earth into a paradise; his purpose didn't change because Adam and Eve sinned.
Psalm 37:29--"The righteous themselves will possess the earth, and they will reside forever upon it."

Everything exists because its opposite exists too. Without death there'd be no life, and in order to understand the value of life you need to know that it has an end.
