All well and good, but not everyone's moral compass is going to point in the same direction unless it's magnetized to some pole. Religious people are magnetized to God, and use His definition of sin, missing the mark, to provide a common standard to which all can aspire. Without that common standard, you get anarchy. Look at what happened wit Nazi Germany. The Germans believed that their decision to exterminate all Jews was right, good, and logical. How does that line up with your compass? What makes your decisions better than theirs? We NEED a common standard as a race, or we will always be at risk for this kind of problem..

My friend, you give yourself too much credit as being the standard of morality. You claim this when you say, "No one tells me what is right or wrong, I search the heart and soul". I presume you are speaking of your heart and soul? I ask you then,"what of the hearts and souls of those around you?" Do you ignore them in favor of what your heart and soul says?
You are right when you say we are endowed with a sense of right from wrong. Yet, we are not perfect in knowing what is right or wrong. Such an attribute has been wounded or distorted by Original Sin. Hence the need for a God and a community to keep each us in check and maintain good moral standards. We cannot do this alone and expect to succeed.
Since we "make mistakes" as you say, then you cannot claim to be the sole standard of morality or that your heart and soul are so righteous as to judge. If you sincerely believe this then you have fallen into the sin of Pride. Therefore, if your heart and soul were "coming from a place of love," you would have seen your self-sabotaging statement clearly. Since, you did not then hopefully you can see we need a perfect and absolute standard and this is found in God Himself. What He gives us as a standard for becoming morally strong and perfect is through the covenant, commandments, and statutes that are found within the Scriptures. They aid, strengthen, and repair our wounded sense of right from wrong. Not only this, but they teach us how to live, consider, interact, and help the hearts and souls of others around us. All are considered in the moral standards of the Scriptures. For example, the 10 commandments are not laws for the individual, but laws of a people. It is promulgated from a communal standpoint and not an individual standpoint.
It is a shame that this whole sense of individualism runs rampant in this country. We are a community as well. We are to strike a balance between the individual needs and needs of a people. And the Scriptures teach us how to do this by teaching what is wrong and right.
I hope this helps you. May the Lord bless and keep you. May He let the light of His face shine upon you.
God's and your beast of burden

Well, finally, I've discovered that one man's mistaken pleasure had been another man's unfortunate undeserved pain...until I realized it had to be the other way around. I am sorry, though I wasted SOME offering the wrong man, what I should have recognized had belonged to the sane, worthy man. not the mid-age adolescent! I'd explain more...but to tell you the truth, past the fact, the subject has become even distasteful to continue in any form or way. It is Finito!

If we should decide with our soul what is sin then we might have missed who accuses us of sin. human are compel to forgive others because they also sin. But God has never sined so we require forgiveness from him only. so how can you tell about existence? do you just emanate from empty source? you have parients who most of care for you and they most have recieved care from there parients too. so goes that someone started the care and creation which is God. We are indepted to him, who created us to be perfect but we sin against him. You are just a tanent in this earth one you will leave. You cannot see your own eye so that is how you cannot judge your own sin.so man cannot direct his steps. So the sustainer of this earth God decides who is obedient to him to leave forever. Pslams 37: 9-11. We have all sined Romans 5;12

Society decides what is right and wrong.
There are universal truths in all societies, if not there would be chaos.
Sin really doesn't exist, except for people of faith.
Whats the difference you may ask.
Well killing for instance. yeah it's a sin. But if you are at war or a loved one is suffering, it's okay with society.

Well there are certainly things that are sins. You may use another word. It is far too dangerous to simply say one mans sin is another mans pleasure. What about rapists, pedophiles, murderers? There are certain morals that need to be practiced and not everyone has their own moral compass.

Everyone you know.
If you can't do or say something in front of Mom, Dad, Gradma, your wife/girlfriend, son, daughter or boss, then you are more than likely sinning.

yes, it is from the heart- you can do things on purpose. or non intentional.
for example- you 'demon' maybe porn, and my 'demon' maybe overeating, but God only judges one by his sin which he or she is worshiping.
get it?
I know looking at porn is NOT of the lord, but if I was to see it, I would not lust for it, because it is just not my thing, and you may over eat once in a while, but it is not your thing.... it is the things in which you do and you know in your heart that it is 'driving' you.
