It's a critical discipline for Bible-believers who want to walk in victory, with the joy of the Lord - one I struggle with. What about you?

We must be careful with how we interpret the passage from
2Cor.10:5. First of all Paul is not speaking to or about the general public. He is arguing with those who claim to be "super-apostles" and with those who are "false apostles" in leadership positions of the churches in Corinth. In short, they believe they are speaking and teaching what is right. The problem that Paul is facing with the "super-apostles" and "false apostles" teachings is its unorthodoxy. Their teachings were not in accord with the Gospel of Christ. Paul knew what they taught was unorthodox because these "super-apostles" exploited the labors of the people for their own benefit and glory. The "false apostles" were teaching a Gospel other than Christ crucified.
The thoughts that are being taken captive are the false and prideful religious leaders of the churches in Corinth. Paul is not talking about "brain washing" the common people. He must capture the thoughts of these bad leaders and teachers, so they will not continue to lead the common people astray in bad teachings and bad examples like theirs.
I hope you see that when you quote from the scriptures you must be knowledgable of its content and context. So, it is important to study the bible and not quote haphazardly like some Christians and Athiests do alike. So, be careful my friends and learn the Scriptures properly.
May the Lord bless and keep you. May He let the light of His face shine upon you.

Sometimes I struggle with this, as I would say most Christians do. That is why it so important to really take a moment and think about what you want to say or how you want to respond. Yes, it angers me when people make rude and derogatory remarks about Christianity and God. To respond back with anger and accusations and judgment is not for us to do. We are to be models of how Christ wants us to be, and Christ wouldn't want us being rude. We are commanded to share the truth with all and encourage all in Christ as there is much to Harvest and few workers, but the Bible also says to kick the dirt from your sandals and go on to someone else if people do not want to listen.
