EtG is a direct metabolite of beverage alcohol (ethanol). Its presence in urine may be used to detect recent alcohol consumption, even after ethanol is no longer measurable. The presence of EtG in urine is a definitive indicator that alcohol was ingested. EtG is detectable in urine for up to 80 hours after the elimination of alcohol. EtG is only evident when alcohol is consumed and is not produced as a result of fermentation.

RE:
How long can Alcohol be detected in your urine?
My job requires random urine test looking for alcohol and/or drugs. I am going to a holiday party this weekend and was curious how long alcohol shows up in your urine?

Usually 24 hrs.. And don't fool yourself. Just because your sober the day after a party, the alcohol is still there and will be like I said for at least 24 hrs. They have tests now where they can get the results in 2 seconds, just with a tiny little white strip. It only takes one drop of urine on the strip. If it changes colour your dead. It's the same concept as the home pregnancy test, only the results are instantaneous.

for as long as it is in the blood...it depends on how much you drink! When you are sober you have no alcohol in the blood! ie the more you drink the longer it takes for the body to get rid of the alcohol... If you get completely wasted I would say 24 hours to not risk anything... although this is much to long....

Alcohol stay in your system for about to day because it passes throgh you kidneys and into your bladder so therefore when you have used the bathroom about three to four times the alcohol has been released from your system.

Alcohol is in your system as long as you're drunk. As soon as you're sober, the alcohol is gone.
A general rule of thumb is this
1 hour for every:
12 ounces of beer
1 ounce of liquor
6 ounces of wine
so drink up and enjoy yourself
