So please try to convince me that girls are not just as shallow as guys. I have been noticing lately that there are many girls I have met or have known for a while that complain about singleness, but their standards are wicked high. Now when I say standards I don't mean personality standards, because I have yet to meet a girl that actually looks at personality first. I am just a little tired of hearing the complaints.

Yes my friend is from New England. Massachusetts to be exact. I'm not, so it's funny to me too. :-)

I think a women wants to be with a guy that is above her... before you all get angry let me explain. She wants a man who is above her physically - taller, stronger, heavier - this is about feeling safe and protected. She wants a man that will lead her, so he needs to be wiser, more intelligent, more forgiving, more loving, a little sensitive. She wants a man that can provide for her (I am not talking about a man that can buy her a sports car every year), but one that will give her more than she would have on her own.

Look I want a man that can laugh at himself and me. Who is intelligent and can converse on a level beyond "how are things going?" I want a man who is unique and will to go against everything if he know it is right.

Yeah women can be shallow but please don't judge us by them. Nor do I want to make sweeping judgements about men by those that are as well.

Many girls are just as shallow or even worse. (a lot of girls also look for money and career success, and things a guy can't even help--height)

Perhaps if the girls who are complaining would start looking for a guy based on his personality they would be a lot happier.

Are you from New England? I don't see the word wicked used in that context very often, just curious.
