SHE HIDES THEM ALL OVER THE HOUSE, I EVEN FOUND ONE IN HER LITTER PAN.

Well probably 2 reasons. They are small enough to bat around and carry in her mouth and play with. And It smells like you and she loves to have your scent around her when you aren't there.

Your hair ties are small enough for your cat to play with. I'm not sure if your cat would be purposefully hiding your ties though ... I would think that it's more likely that your cat either drops your tie (and then forgets about it ...) or bats the tie to some totally unaccessible place (my sister has found cat toys underneath her fridge).
Just keep a large selection of hair ties on-hand and don't ever use that one from the litter pan again!

Cats tend to be very playful. You need to start keeping them where she does not have access to them. That will definitely solve the problem. Is there anything else she might get into that could be poisonous to her? Cats can very nosy and can access a lot of places in the house that we wouldn't even think of. I had a cat that loved to sit on top of the refrigerator and on top of the shower doors. You might try getting her some more toys to play with too...this may help her to leave your stuff alone. i would trash the one from the litter pan. all cats love hair ties, they think it's a toy. as long as the cat doesn't try to ingest them it should be safe. now you know what to get kitty for the holidays

Cats like anything that is not an actual cat toy. Or thats how it seems. My cats love my hair ties too...they are so cute!

My cat's two favorite toys are the plastic ring from the cap of a gallon of milk and hair ties. They can scoop them up with one paw, bat them around, cart it around in their mouths, it's a great cat toy.

Cats play with just about anything small and easy to bat around. My cat plays with milk caps. if you dont like this, buy a pack of hairties just for her to play with and keep you hair ties where she cant get them.

My cats love them too! I think they like them because they slide around so easily & can even fly across the whole floor when they bat at them. They also love the craft pom poms, those little puff balls made of yarn, they go crazy over them. Cheap toys anyway!

You may need to provide other toys for her to play with. But the hair ties are safe and inexpensive for her to hide and play with, so you may just need to buy extra

My cat does this too.. I got smart and found his hiding spot under my couch... My cat likes to steal beer bottle caps too.. It's hilarious...
