I have previously had red (bright red) put through my hair either as sort of highlights and the rest black, or as a stripe and the rest black. Recently as the red was not popular at work, I reverted to blonde highlights. I am thinking of going back to red. Does anyone have any comments or perhaps a different idea (replies from hairdressers particularly welcome)?

I have tried red and blonde together, but the red tends to look pink next to the blonde - definitely not the look I am going for.

It will definitely be done in a salon, as I am not brave or skilled enough to even think about attempting at home. Main thing I have against the blonde is that is what I have now - I get bored easily.

Depends if you are doing it at home or a salon.
if you're doing it at home I say go red
if you're going to a salon try blonde
normally everyone goes dark for the winter, so you're brave and red can be dark too depending which shade, so go for blonde as long as you're going to a salon!
My reasoning for needed a salon for blonde is that a home kit is very damaging, and to get the actual blonde colour you have to do a couple kits and that is extremely dangerous, your hair will just snap off and it'll be really hard to brush.
Also the home kits make for dying over the blonde really hard in the future.
so I'm going to tell you how to get rid of blonde, go to a drug store and get a wash out semi permanent hair dye. I suggest naturals by clairol, they wash out in 26-28 washes but slowly fade so it's not a sudden "where's my colour?" and once you have that dye in your hair for a couple weeks or whenever you need to next redye it (up to you) you can use a permanent dye. the wash out doesn't have amonia in it, and that's what is so damaging after bleach, plus the bleached hair will not hold colour other than the wash out stuff....
well I hope this helps and I think either would be really cute!

I think you should get red highlights because most people for some reason mostly get blonde. Plus red is one of the traditional Christmas Colors.

have red and blonde highlights, that would look cool. I think anybody who has dark hair pale skin and blue eyes looks good with red hair. When you have pale skin and blue eyes blonde washes you out a bit, you're all the same colour! lol. But yeah blonde and red highlights would look good.

in case you opt for the colour on the container, see what colour the fashions eyebrows are then bypass from there, in the journey that they seem to be a similar, your ought to easily wanna bypass with the pink, because it will probably be nice besides. because you already dyed it, this is going to likely be large damaged in case you dye it two times, wait 2 weeks between each and each and every dye pastime, is a good rule of thumb. if the colour seems undesirable, get a colour stripping shampoo, it will come out in some washes.

I like the idea of your red, but if it wasn't popular at work, then I wouldn't go for bright red.
Maybe a more natural red could work, or reddy-blonde?

they would both be fun but just think about how hard it is to get the red out if you go red and then decide to go blonde in a few months its going to be pretty tricky not to mention damaged and salmony colored. not fun so its your pick im sure that they would both look good but think about what it will take later to make it look good after this time too
