I don't believe cats are suicidal. Depression had absolutely nothing to do with it. There was probably something it wanted to get to.

Animals get depressed just like humans do so with all kidding aside your girlfriends cat could have jumped off because it was depressed. Stranger things have happened.

This happened to a friend of mine, the cat just didn't fathom how long the fall was for one thing,...and nature took it's course, and the cat ran away to probably find more cats...you really have to not leave any windows open when you have a cat like that.

Maybe he saw a bird or something and he jumped, if he did so he must have been very hurt and maybe dead by now, I know it because my cat did the same from a third floor and he was bleeding on the inside, I took him to the vet and he survived

see thats why I never understood why people liked animals your girlfriend prob was all upest by this cat killing himself.No it was not depressed his brain is the size of a peanut this is what I expect from anything with a peanut size brain,just scoop him up and bring him to the nearest chinese resturant they will know what to do with the remains.
