Depression and chronic depression are essentially the same thing, but chronic depression usually is the result of some type of chemical imbalance that causes the depression to recur consistently. The type of depression that literally everyone faces at some point or another, often can be the result of a similar imbalance, but it is usually temporary and can be brought on by day length changes, diet changes, or jsut the imbalance caused by an emotionally traumatic situation that kicks your adrenaline and other hormones into high gear.
