You might think about trying this book called "The Movie Star Diet" by Steve Simmons. It helped me lose thirty pounds in 2 1/2 months when I didn't think anything would work. My goal to begin with was only 20 lbs! It has a really easy plan to follow and an excellent workout as well.

-Eat healthier foods and beware of fatening so-called healthy food (ie orange juice).
-Eat lots of veggies (they fill you up and you can't overeat them). --Eat smaller portions often during the day.
-Eat when you are hungry and start early in the day.
-Exercise exercise excersise...oh did I mention exercise?
-When you go out to restaurants, don't be afraid to leave food on the plate. Order what you like but eat half. Better still, share with someone, restaurant portions are twice what they should be anyways. BONUS...you'll save money.
-beware of alcohol calories. 1 beer=1 chocolate bar

The steps above did in fact help me to lose 30 lbs in 1 year and because of my re-adjusted attitude, I've now kept it off for 5 years (I'm female, 5'6, 115 lbs)

Oh...and stay away from "packaged" diets. A waste of money and you'll gain it all back after you stop. I went to see my doctor to lose the weight, you should too.

Try Weight Watchers. If you don't want to go to the meetings, you can participate online from home, and it isn't very expensive. You have a good time line, so don't try any "lose weight quick" diet schemes.

What it comes down to in the end is easy and free: Watch what you eat and increase your exercise. Weight watchers helps "retrain" you to help you eat healthier!
