Hi, I'm an officer of a service club at my high school, and (obviously) I have to help find events for us to do. Are there any other options besides volunteermatch and guidestar? Thanks in advance!

You can check with your local chapter of American Red Cross for volunteer opportunities or they may have a youth program that you can get involved in. You might also try the local humane society where i'm from we went every sunday and just took the dogs for a walk as a service. Good luck to you! :)

My first instinct was the Red Cross, but as I see, it was everyone else's too. If you truly wish to find events that someone else will benefit from for your highschool club, consider mentoring an underprivelaged child. Either contact your local YMCA, or Social Services organization in your town. Both would be grateful. It sort of works similiar to the volunteer match that is done for the elderly and runs along the same lines as big brother/sister.

There are the big organizations like United Way, Salvation Army and such. Or try talking to the Mayor of your city or the Department of Public Works Director of your city. They would welcome volunteers to help clean up parks, pick up litter along the streets, or if you live where there is snow, you could volunteer to shovel snow for the elderly.
You could also check the library. They use volunteers as well.
Good luck and have fun!

Try the local Red Cross, and other volunteer oriented organizations in your area. If you are near a state park, they are often looking for volunteers to help clean up the trash.
