For starters WHy do you need to get rid of these beavers? Although i already know part of the question that they are in your way but is there away to work with the beaver? If your in a farming area the beaver can store water in their dams that can be used if need be. Really you should try to live and work wth them but taking down water levels to acceptable levels because they probably flooded your land. I'm sure they have been there a long time and you just got hit with alot of water and how they are a problem. To reduce the water make a deep whole in the dam and stick a long 8 - 15 foot pipe in this hole in the dam... Sitck the pipe out into the water side of the dam as far as you can so little is hanging over the dam... The Reason you do this is the part thats all in the water will be full of holes so the little buggers can't plug it up because they will.
Once you have reduced the water down to an acceptable depth you will both be able to live in harmony.
Now if you absolutlely have to remove the beavers, trap them out using conabears they work well. You will need to use an attractant such as.... oh the name is slipping me but its a musk emitted from one of their glands very potent stuff its the cat nip of beavers haha. anyway trap them out and drop the water down and go from there although I strongly discourage this as you are reducing habitat and diversity of your geographic location.
In closing try not to but if its the only way I've given some possible ways of doing it.

I have a farm. It was always getting dammed down by my head gate. I have pulled the dams out with a tractor. blown them up with dynamite and the beavers were still building. To get rid of the lodge you have to get rid of the beavers. Trap them and move them a few hundred miles away then blow the dam or pull it out. I know thirty five miles away don't work. lol. They just came back. You need to move them where they can build safely, near a small stream or creek with plenty of saplings near it.

our division of wildlife here in Ohio will use explosives when they want to clear a beaver dam, lodges are usually not a problem, so i don't know why you would want to destroy a lodge.

The ONLY way to get rid of the beaver lodge is to get rid of the beavers first.Trust me.Hang out and trap them or shoot them all before you mess with their dam/lodge.Then I'd blow that sucker up.

Well first of all you need to get rid of the beaver. There are several ways to do that.
After getting rid of the pesky little critter, jusy disassemble the lodge by hand. If you want to have some fun blow it up.

When I lived up is Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan we would hang out in the woods messing around building forts and having BB gun wars. We found a beaver damn, it took us awhile but we dismantled it piece by piece until the flood water took care of the rest. It was fun,lol

Gardening tools like shovels, mattocks, etc, work fine. The beavers have to be relocated or they'll rebuild it within the space of a couple days.

you might think this is extreme, but i know farmers around here can get a permit to use dynamite and blow up the beaver dams.
