what do u mean locking up? like your screen gets stucked and stops responding?

you gotta try reinstall IE7, it must corrupted or something.

go to the windows update site and make sure you have all of the current updates, update and run your virus center if you dont have one get avg free, run your adware control if you dont have one get adaware

un-install and re-install. That should fix it.
