I believe you can because I'm going through the same thing. Personally, my next step is trying to get on a webcam because seeing a picture of the person is great, but actually seeing how they move, how they portray themselves, and how they sound is even better. Listen to what your heart tells you because if you listen to other people saying it's not a real relationship or other things along that line, you'll start to take on THEIR view and you'll start to doubt what's going on. I hope this helped a little....

Be careful
People Online can tell you and show you anything you want or see. Meet in a public place and ask questions etc.
I new a girl who was not skinny by no means, nor was she athletic. She had a guy Online convinced she was in shape and athletic.
They met to climb one of our mountains, (same mountains I have a pic of on my aviator) of course the dude was real disappointed. I told her she best be honest but she had other ways of seeing things....he never talked to her again...
She also did this with another guy, he did not shake her off though. The kids parents had money. She said to me this is the only reason she was going out with him! Sad very sad!! Anyways just be careful!!

absolutely yes! i met my current boy friend online and we have an incredible relationship that has stood the test of time - when we first started talking online i was edgy about getting to know him because he was a total stranger but i feel trust is the important thing in a situation such as this - everyone we meet is a stranger at first but its really about challenging yourself to make the next move of something that could be - only decide to meet the person when you think you are ready, dont rush things - ask them more questions about their life and what they like to do and upon you meeting them and things dont add up , then you decide what you want to do from there - but love is not subjected to a certain place or time or age, it comes as a surprise when you least expect it to.

Yes it can happen. It can also happen for all the wrong reasons. Get to know this person more before you start expressing your love for them. Seeing pics of them doesnt mean that it really is them. Try opting for the webcam. This way you can see them move and interact when your chatting to them and you can also see their expressions.

I doubt it--probably just a fantasy at this point. It's the holidays, you're probably lonely, and engaging in wishful thinking. It takes awhile to fall in love for real. Just my opinion--but you asked!

i think its stupid to fall in love with someone online.....
the pics could be phony, as they usually are online...
but yea, my advice is that you dont try to meet up with this person in person!........
