I am an american small business owner. I am interested in helping some friends of mine (Australian ages 28 & 31) get permission to work in the USA for a couple of years. She has both Australian and EU (Irish) passports/citizenship.

I would be happy to sponsor and employ them if that's the easiest way. They have experience in what I need, but not formal education, degrees, or certificates.

Also, she's pregnant. Would it make it that much easier if she were to give birth while here in the USA on vacation so that their son/daughter is a US citizen?

so here are my questions:

1. How hard will it be?
2. How long will it likely take?
3. What are the chances of doing this successfully?
4. What is the best route to persue?

Thanks

1) Very Hard
2) They will have to qualify before a petition will be approved. They may first have to secure some education.
3)Little to none.
4)Immigrant Lottery at the U.S. Consulate in Melbourne.

I'm afraid the child being born in the U.S. will be of little help.
When the child turns twenty one he/she will quality to file an immigrant petition for his/her parents.

If they posses some special knowledge or skill there may be a chance for a successful petition. That knowledge or skill would have to be renowned, not common. See uscis.dhs.gov

1. Hard is subjective. It will be detailed, yes.
2. Depends on the complexity of the situation.
3. If everything meets the criteria for the visas, then it will be successful.
4. Consult an immigration attorney.

Frankly, your questions all depend on specifics. Consult and immigration attorney to review the situation, the job offer, education history, etc.

The couple should contact the US Embassy in Australia and get all their questions answered. I am pretty sure they would have to apply from there, anyways. Also, check out the US Immigration website for information, including the address and phone number of the US Embassy nearest them in Australia.

My dad's wife came from Europe. It took 6 months for her to get a travel visa and 3 years to get citizenship. Check out this website.
