Don't get wedding planner. Just go buy a few inexpensive books and magazines on how to plan a wedding. There are tons of them out there. Honestly, I planned my own wedding, and my wedding was much more elegant and exciting than my friend's wedding who had a planner. She even admitted that to me also.

You can pull off the most wonderful wedding by enlisting the help of your friends and family and avoid the cost of a wedding planner. My best friends wedding was the most beautiful I have ever been to and it was a labor of love. We planned and made the decorations, did all of the decorating etc. We used a local caterer with a great reputation and fair prices. DJ service was a snap. A little leg work can go a long way. You will get exactly what you want. These are the people that know you best and want you to have to most fabulous memorable wedding. She had 300 happy guests and most importantly it was all she could have ever asked for and more.
Good Luck!

If you really want a wedding planner, go to the Association of Bridal Consultants and find one in your area. However, I would only suggest this if you feel you really don't have the time to plan the wedding yourself. If you have the time and friends who will do what you want for your wedding, than check out The Knot instead. I've included links for both of them below:

You really don't need a wedding planner. Planning a wedding is time consuming, but you can do it with the help of friends.
