Stop doubting yourself. In order for you to be confident you must not doubt yourself and affirm everything you believe in. If you doubt yourself for even a second you break all your confidence.

You can't be, so just pretend that you are. Noone is really confident because there are no guarantees in this world. Act confident and you will be seen as confident and you will feel more confident.

Hello,
Self confidence is born out of feeling secure within yourself. And feeling secure inside is related to liking & loving yourself (no!no! not in the soppy or egotistical sense of love).
**Dont confuse self confidence with the confidence someone might have from performing a specific task or skill (something they might have many years experience in?). Thats not quite the same, that's a slightly different form of confidence.
I'm talking about self esteem or self worth, if you have a low opinion of yourself or poor self esteem its possible that the root causes of this can be found in your growing up & within your own family environment as a child.
Much of our behaviour is learned in our early years as children & we often develop patterns & attitudes that stick with us over our life time. This includes our confidence & our opinions about ourselves. Poor self confidence might be related to the way you were raised as a child, but confidence and the negativity that holds you back can be changed if your willing to see yourself in a different way.
No.1 (what can I do about this?) Negative belief's (negative patterns) can and should be changed into positive ones! OK! How your asking?. For every negative self belief or statement you have about yourself you need to contradict it.
example (negative) I'm no good at ?????
(positive) I'm good or I'm very good at ????
(Note):The more emotions that come up as a result of saying the positive statement (contradiction) the better. Laughing, feeling stupid, bursting into tears, etc. It means your views & feelings about yourself are changing.
No.2 (another approach you could try to)
Notice each time you achieve something good or new or successfully in your life. Just give yourself some positive appreciation. Like gosh! I really did a good job of that. And notice any negatives too that pop into your mind.
No.3
I also would like to suggest that you think about going and doing a course on assertiveness, why? because being assertive and self confidence are intimately linked (closely related). Perhaps an evening course or may be just a weekend workshop. This will also help you look at what gets in your way of feeling good about who you are.
Best Regards to you!
