I like the evolution of 'why we fight" through the years.
First "revenge for 9/11".
Then "WMD".
Then "We are there to deliver the people of Iraq from a despot".
Then, finally, a shaking and stuttering "STFU!! I'M THE DECIDER, I'M THE DECIDER!!!"
Nifty, hm?

Who said he lied and why do you believe it? If media is what you are relying on then you need more than this answer to help you understand!
I was there and things were improving since April 2003. Just because they are killing each other for religous reasons does'nt mean there is no progress.
War sucks but sometimes necessary. The people of Iraq and many people of that region do not think like we do. No one is trying to get them to think any different becuase that is there right but it is a problem and probably the reason you see things the way you do about them. The Iraqi people have been forced to live a lifestyle for so long they do not know how to live any other way! They fought eachother for food before the war started! There was NO finiancial equality! Now the playing field is a bit more level. The poor are working as police and now have money but there is so much importance to there culture and the way of life according to there "Quran" that they can not work together. Sadaam did some serious damage to these peoples minds!
From past wars, we are still in the Phillipines and Germany and Iraq will be much the same. Decades of military existance in that regoin is going to happen! It is the only way change will happen! We could pull out and watch another nucleur arms race but that would mean world distruction! Why would anyone want to support that? But we do have supporters and it is just to bad there is so many ignorant people in our American society and the world who do not see this or understand! Why are we there? Becuase they killed more Americans on our land than history ever recorded!!! Doesn't anybody care about those lost lives and preventing it from happening again?!!!
Well, I care and will till the day I die!

Why do you think we are searching for alternative fuel sources so aggressively? This country is totally dependant on oil. Anyway, The American people do not want to hear that we would ever take an aggressive stand against any other country for the sake of oil. This country would rather be slaves to other countrys for oil. The people have lost their perspective. The bleeding hearts have to be appeased, those self-rightous idiots. They are too thin-skinned to think of being aggressors. WAKE UP. We are very aggressive. This country was built on guns. Now we have the greatest fighting force ever seen and there is a reason for it. We initally came here and took what we needed to make this the Empire it has turned out to be. If it were not for this country - there would be very little freedom throughout the world. The only way we can insure our grip on this earth is to make sure we have the energy to do it. If that means we need to just 'take' oil, well, that's just too bad. This government is too important for world stability. It has to be done. We need oil and we are going to need more oil.

Why do people lie to others about how well their marriage is going, then all of a sudden they get divorced? Sometimes people look at the bright side of things and ignore the problems until it's too late. I'm glad Bush finally saw the problems, now let's hope the new "marriage counselor" will do a better job than Rumsfeld.

I don't think it was a total lie. You seen the Iraqi people cheering in the street when the statue of Saddam was torn down. Everybody that was not for Saddam was happy! Little did anyone know at the time that the joy would replaced with religious sects each vieing for power.
As for fox news, they seen the democrats take office! So they are going to start siding with the democrats reporting things the democrat style. It's all about ratings.

Maybe he wasn't lying about "progress", after all, how many soldiers and marines have been in here telling us the real-deal?
Wheres the million bodies of all the Iraqi's we supposedly killed? Wheres a spot big enough and secluded enough to store that kind of mountain?
The media, in my view, could decide to call red green and low and behold people believe it.
So, the idea that Bush is all "lies" to me doesnt hold water.
Media+stories=lies.

How do you know he was lying? Fox News has reported the facts all along. Conservatives have known for as long as you have things were going badly. Most Conservatives don't believe all of it was Bush's fault. I am telling you the truth, but you will vote for someone who believes as you do. So why did you ask the question in the first place?
