This is a very hard question to ask, but I can do my best:
It's going to be hard to keep a balance between santa and Jesus. We're talking about two little boys here, and of course who do you think the kids would have a stronger connection to (they are kids) there is a big chance your kids would be more into Santa and probably wouldn't realize that it's all about Jesus. Don't be afraid to tell your kids the thruth of the matter. You as a Christian should care for your children's reaction towards Christmas and Santa clause. I'm a Christian as well, and my church teaches every little kid that santa clause is not real, he is just a character of a fairy tale. We don't tell them that he is bad, we tell them that they cannot see him greater than Jesus because of the little gifts. Jesus was the biggest gift in existance period.

Some do not. They see it as lying, others will, like you said, keeping a balance. You can teach them about the real Santa. He was a Christian Priest who delivered food and gifts to the Poor at Christians.

You have hit a sore spot with me!
I am also a christian and I didn't want to talk about Santa at all with my kid. But was guilted into it. I folded. I'm so ashamed! I lied to my kid. Actually others did but I didn't correct them. They kept saying that I was taking the fun out of Christmas. IT'S a LIE...and I Iied to my kid!!!
I'm so ashamed.
The whole Santa thing just creeps me out.

The real reason for Christmas is the Solstice. It has historically been a time to celebrate life continuing through winter.
Some religions tacked their god onto the celebration, like Mithras and Jesus, later and added their own customs.
In recent days, the holiday has become mostly secular. It has almost come around full circle to just a winter celebration.

Hope the truth. Tell the truth about everything and they will understand. Better tell them now, than later on in life they realize you lie to them. That would be the worst thing. I told my sons the truth about santa. It didn't hurt them. and I was glad I did. Now, they can't say I lie to them.. That would be a bad example to them.
Hope this Helps.
Hope you and your family have a great Christmas.

Well when I was lil my mom would just tell me that she was SANTA and that we were celebrating Christmas as a day to represent the BIRTH of Our Savior Jesus Christ...I plan to do the same with my kids....I also want to teach my kids to give on Christmas as God gave us....EVERLASTING LIFE....Maybe we would visit shelters or hospitals and give gifts....I also wouldnt over saturate them with toys....maybe 1 or two but definitely not 20 like most households

AS A CHRISTIAN YOU SHOULD FIND THE SOURCE OF SANTA . FIND JUST FIND ONE WORD ABOUT SANTA OR SANTA RELATED IN THE BIBLE AND YOU HAVE THE ANSWER AND YOU CAN EDUCATE TOUR BOYS ABOUT CHRISTMAS. ITS ABOUT PROPHET JESUS . BUT NOBODY TALKS ABOUT IT ! ITS THE BIRTH OF JESUS . IT S NOT SANTA'S BIRTHDAY SANTA IS REAL AS CINDERELLA.
WE START KIDS EDUCATION WITH A LIE . AND AS A REAL CHRISTIAN WE ARE SUPPOSED TO FOLLOW THE TRUTH .AREN'T WE?

Christmas is celebrating the birth of Christ as you know, so focus on that. As they get older you can ''murge'' the two saying that on Chrismas Eve Santa comes to celebrate Jesus's birthday.
Personally I feel guilty about this lie I am telling my daughter. Shes 6 and is really into Santa and asks all sorts of questions. I know the day is nearing where shes going to find out its not true and shes probably going to be mad at me for lying. Then I hope that as she gets older she will realise I did it to make her happy!

They should be allowed to believe in Santa ONLY IF they accept the true reason of the season (Jesus). That's how I was taught when growing up.
