LOVE pecans! Here in the south, pecans can be found everywhere and in everything. The only problem is their price has gone through the roof! My husband and I have a deal - I can get pecans in the shell for a reasonable $1.50/lb (shelled in the store $8/lb), and he will shell them if he can eat while he shells. I have 20 lbs. in my garage now waiting for someone to shell them - I could have them all used by Christmas if I make everything I want to - multiple pecan pies, candy - not to mention the ones for sweet potatoes, breads, etc...

Pecans are good for pie and cookies. MY favorite nut is almonds and I only eat shelled pecans when I'm with the in-laws in Texas

I like pecans, but given a choice of other nuts, would choose something with almonds or walnuts instead.

When it comes to nuts in candy or cookies, I prefer pecans to walnuts. However, if it's just for eating alone, I like cashews or peanuts better.
