If the source MP3 is in stereo, and the singer's voice isn't off to one side or the other, you can use a Winamp with a vocal remover DSP plugin. Just download Winamp from http://www.winamp.com and it comes with a basic DSP set as is. Hit CTRL-P, in the left column, go down to Plugins > DSP/Effect and in the right, select Nullsoft Signal Processing Studio DSP. Click Configure Active Plugin. Click Load and pick Justin - Stupid Stereo Voice Removal. Click Open. Tick the Enable Processing Box. Play your MP3 and voila! There are other voice removal plugins on Winamp's website. How well it works varies greatly on the quality of the original MP3, how the source recording was mixed, and the type of stereo encoding (i.e. joint stereo).
