I am no vet but I have had many cats in my lifetime. It doesn't seem like a problem that can't wait for his next vet visit. I noticed when my cats got older they developed a lot of strange behaviors and changed their routines up. I think he is just getting older and his appetite may have changed. I would bring it to the vet's attention during your cat's appointment and have them check for mouth injuries to rule that out. And also have them give him a thorough exam. Otherwise trust your vet, its their job to take care of your pet.

Sudden changes in eating habits do not bode well for kitties. He could be sick, or he could have eaten something he shouldn't.
On the other hand, it could be he has found food somewhere else: My husband and I have left food outside for a cat who appeared to have been abandoned. At least, until we saw the owner again.
If anything else has changed (such as his level of activity or his potty habits), he has a major problem and he should be taken to the vet immediately. Otherwise, you might want to take him to the vet anyway. Or you might want to keep a very close eye on him for the next nine days.
Good luck.

If he is eating and drinking you may be able to wait 9 days. If not see a Dr. immediately. Is he current on vaccines? Lots of things that a cat can get if he is not. I always tell my clients better safe than sorry... see a vet soon.

maybe when he goes outside he finds stuff to eat, or eat ate something outside and got sick. But it can not be that bad , your cat can wait but if the situation gets worst then you should take him to a vet right away but right now it seems ok.
good luck, hope you kitty gets better

Are you standing there watching your cat eat or what? he/she will sense that if your watching him so intently give him some space. 9 days should be fine, he is 10 thats a pretty decent age for a cat hes getting old and his eating habits may change in the winter. if things change or worsen take to the emergency hospital near u

If the cat doesn't seem sick and is eating and drinking (even if its not the normal amount), it should be fine. If you notice any signs of sickness, take the cat to the vet immediately to make sure everything is alright.

My cat was an outside cat but she came inside to eat and sleep. But she spent most of her days outside. Then she started to stay inside most of the time and she wouldn't eat. We even tried to feed her canned tuna(her special treat) but she wouldn't touch it. We took her to the vet and we found out that she has some sort of skin cancer. I would try to get your cat in quicker just in case it is something really serious!

The best person to answer your question is your vet. If this were my cat and I was concerned I would ask to see the vet sooner.

maybe he has eaten too much and now has some problem (animals know how much to eat better than humans)
maybe is due to a change of temperature (frequently changing of temperature)
