Sawpit Island is located in the James Bay Lowlands area, along the Moose River with 10 other islands in a forested wetlands known as The Great Muskeg


Others islands close to it are Shipsand,Big Duck, Little Duck,Butler, Horseshoe, Middlehorse, Charles and Tidewater Island......Fossil Islands

Close to remote Moosonee and Moose Factory

Moose Factory is the oldest settlement in Ontario, founded by the Hudson Bay Company in 1673

As it is in James Bay Area believe remains under Treaty?

In the Moose River-James Bay area, Moosonee District. Sorry, I don't know the unchartered part. It's close to Tidewater Provincial Park.

I've never heard of "Sawpit Island" only Sawpit Bay which is on Lake Superior.
