Seriously, the hot dog companies don't bake the buns, and the bakery companies don't package the hot dogs.
It doesn't really matter, though. Hot dogs last practically forever in the fridge, especially the individually wrapped ones. You can also freeze left over buns. They are a bit funky thawed out, but not if you steam or toast them first. Dog buns usually aren't the greatest quality bread anyway. My local dog stand butters and pan fries them or grills them first, and that makes them delicious.

Depends on the brand of hot dog. The pack I buy contains only 8 hot dogs. So there! Ha ha...

Because, people will usually eat a couple with no bun or feed a couple to the dog!!! Most kids like their hot dogs minus the bun!

a complete lack of communication between the bread industry and the meat industry. someone really should inform them of this problem so we can get it corrected. I mean how long did it take before they made bun length hot dogs!
