Maybe she would like a little bit of makeup. Some lip gloss or new blush. Nothing too crazy because she is young but I know i loved that kind of stuff when I was 9.

Most kids at this age know what they want. You should ask her. Most of kids want electronics. I told my daughter for her birthday we would stay in a hotel in a new city for a couple nights and check out the area and a movie. She loved it. Kids like to have adventures. It's something you both could enjoy.

Books. The Little House on the Prarie series makes good reading material for her age and requires her to use her mind and develope skills necessary to grown.

If your getting her some kind of present for Christmas that you could get something extra to go with it for her birthday. If not then the new Idogs are really neat and have tons of accessories for them as well. We got one for our 11 year old (birthday in Nov) and getting the extras for Christmas.

What a nice day to have as one's birthday. She's the perfect age to take to a place like "make a bear" store and then out to lunch. Enjoy whatever you do!

Try taking her out to the shopping center and observe what seems to catch her eye and excite her. Then ask her why she got excited when she saw that particular item, she might just tell you what she wants. You don't have to tell her that you are getting it for her. Try to be reasonable and budget for that gift, because as she gets older, you want to be able to top that gift.
Good Luck and Happy birthday to her.

get her a nintendo wii, clothes, a gift certificate or a tv, now she is 9, i know she has to be telling you what she wants every 5 minutes. just take her to the mall and walk around with her. then you'll have more than enough ideas.

I remember when I was 9 years old I love to write poems and songs so if she likes to write or draw you can get her a journal book or a book that she can draw in.
