Hello "Aussie" (I hope that's not derogatory)
You can have dual citizenship -- keeping your beloved homeland and adopting your new homeland.
Or you can simply keep your Australian citizenship and apply to work & live over in the USA, but not become a citizen.
Speak with the Australian department that handles visas and immigration.

Go to the American Embassy and ask them what is the process for you to apply. We welcome all legal immigrants to this great nation.Good luck to you in this application.
Don't pay any attention to the detractors that talk disparagingly about the USA .Its a beautiful country filled with great people and a few disgruntled malcontents

Why would you want to come here, I've been dying to become an Australian citizen for years. America is a corrupt,self-centered, snobbish country.

I was born here so I can't give you the answer to that. Check the Immigration Center....my suggestion is to stay in Australia....the USA is becoming over-crowded and we don't have any cool animals here like Koala's or kangaroos.
