There is Reason and there is Spirit.
Both have something to give to Human Need.
Neither is enough on its own.

I believe there were many people like you in Noah's time who prayed to God but rejected Noah's message choosing instead to believe the atheists and scientists who seemingly made more sense than Noah.
My Bible also says "As it was in the days of Noah so shall it be in the coming of the Son of Man" The days are here now, no doubt.

I wonder if the atheist here consider you to be "brainwashed", that is one of their favorite words to use here for people who believe in God. I don't "side" with Atheist on some issues but I do understand them.

Sometimes it's easier for some people to side or compromise with atheists especially when they are familiar with their spirits regardless whether believe, pray,or worship God. Jesus even said that the pharisees and scribes were "white washed scepters" and also called them "vipers".

In my experience having talked to numerous people in the same state, you are in a typical pre-atheist phase where the theist rationally realizes the atheist is correct but still has an emotional commitment to theism. Usually this phase lasts about a year or so before the final compete conversion to atheism.
Dan Barker's excellent book "Losing Faith in Faith" describes a former minister going through the same difficult process.

Hi,
I am afraid that is a question only you can answer, but maybe it has something to do with one in high political office who is giving the Christian religion a black eye.

because deep down you know the truth is in what athiest believe, but you pray for the sake that if god is a real being then you are somewhat considered safe, because you still believe. but to eahc is own and athiest make more logical sense rather than pulling information out of a book different men from different times wrote.

Atheists are generally more reasonable, knowledgeable, and intelligent.
There is nothing wrong with your prayer.
The religious zealots here tend to believe it is incumbent upon them to convert the unbelievers. Atheists generally couldn't care less about the erroneous beliefs of others insofar as they don't proselytize. Therefore the believers are more pushy and thus more put offish.

Because the religious people on here are like Toronto Maple Leaf fans. They believe to the point that they are beligerent. They take the Bible literally when in many cases, it is figurative.

Probably because you realized that most atheists are tolerant and educated people. And, by the way, thank you for seeing some goodness in us;)
