You can....i ran out of normal sugar and used caster sugar once.
I know its sugar and everything but it did taste weird...
My husband who is a chef says that the refining process of caster sugar removes alot of the flavour and sweetness compared to raw sugar....deep and meaningful stuff huh.

Sugar is sugar. It is all just processed differently. Caloric quantities are the same spoon for spoon. You can put raw sugar, white sugar, brown sugar, castor sugar in your tea.
