Though many people wrote various parts of it, the Old Testament was codified when the Septuagint (a translation of the Hebrew into Greek) was made. The New Testament was codified by scholars in the Church.
The stuff which didn't make the cut, was called pseudepigrapha or hagiagrapha. Some of that was included in what is called, the Apocrypha.

The Bible was not written by man alone but as the Holy Spirit moved upon man to quote exactly what God did state unto the world and if it were God that spoke, and it was, then man is responsible for his actions either for God or against God,but make no mistake accountability is not optionable all are accountable unto God whom delivered HIS word without error.

God is the author. It is written and inspired by Him.

Certain books were written by the Apostles about the life of Jesus Christ. Later on, they were translated by others.

Thanks to the work of John Tindale, Bibles are available for all to read not just the clergy.

Men who dictated revealed knowledge of what God would have said if he could have said it.
God speaks to people through their mind. Of course they are just using the best reason and logic that is available to them at that time. There is no God, only a feeling of one. Which isn't really good enough to invent one. I fell like I'm a millionaire, but every time I check my bank account. Nope!
