Yes. Artificial sugar dissolves very quickly in your body and gives a sugar boost. It is best to consume as little of it as you can. It puts an additional tax on the kidneys and in some cases leads to diabetes. It is bad for your teeth. It interferes with the proper absorption of more wholesome foods and could well lower immunity. You can get all the sugar you want from fruit without detriment and in fact strengthen your immunity because fruit are rich in vitamins.

I have not heard that it is, but it would not surprise me if it does. Several artificial sweeteners have been linked to serious health related problems. Real sugar definitely does and from what I understand it takes the body 6 hours after eating sugar to be able to use the immune system again. When you consider what deceases and infections there are out there to catch, we would all benefit from illuminating sugar when ever possible!
