Imagine you are the Pope and there is a massive plague, and people are dying in droves~ on your watch! So you do a lot of praying to God to give you advice on what to do. All of a sudden it occurs to you to make abortion and condoms a sin.
God must have told you this, especially if you are the Pope!
Problem is; the plague is now over, and new problems are taking place. Like people are not devout believers like they used to be, and over crowding and all the issues that come with that, so the time is ripe for God to reveal some new sins that serve the new problems.
New Bible 3.0 is due out soon.
Of course there is no God and people simply use reason and logic to to solve problems. But who would listen if it weren't from God himself?
Any wonder new religions are growing more popular?

One thing about the Church of England is that such issues are left to the individual and not dictated to by the head of the Church. Personally I would be against but putting oneself into the place of a young girl , perhaps raped and then pregnant well I am so undecided. Also the family that is not too good with finances would that be a good reason to abort? A very big issue that could be debated for weeks and still not get a resolution.
Have a happy and blessed Christmas.

As a Christian myself, I believe abortion is a sin. Abortion is murder and in the Bible it clearly states that murder is sin.Jesus tells us this in Matthew 19:18.

Depends on the circumstances. There are several places where the Bible says that babies who have not yet been born are still humans. So from this, it would appear that abortion is murder. Therefore, abortion is usually wrong. However, I accept that there are some circumstances where abortion necessary.
100% of people who support abortion have already been born.

Yes we are against it, there is only one exception that Christians accepts it, & that is if the life of the mother is in danger, & then we let that rest with the family decision. Many believes that at conception, there is no life in that seed,That seed is getting oxygen from his/her mother, If that seed was not alive, then why not leave it alone, anything that don't have a living life is dead, therefore we should not worry what will happen 9 months later if that seed has no life in it, Once that bby is born, It then breathes on it's own & that is where their soul is placed into that living body, You may ask does it have a soul while it is still in the mothers womb, Potenually no & yes, God has already created that soul that will be place in that baby, But if that baby dies Or the mother mis-carriage, then God still keeps that soul with him for ever.

#1 Murder, #2 Murder. I don't get the whole when is a fetus a fetus. From the moment of conception a person starts growing. Now they say we can live to 100 years old. At what point do we decide that Human life isn't life. With thousands of good couples looking for a child I see no need for abortion. Rape is horrable, but why kill the inocent child ,give it up for adoption.

They are a multitude AGAINST EACH OTHER.... skin to skin that is, as in premarital fornication and marital adultery.
The goody Christians rationalize this by pontificating that the Christian
fornicators & adultarers are not really Christians.
Which brings to mind: was the exaulted good Christian Rev. Haggard now
not a Christian at all by virtue of behavior?

I believe that most of us Christians are against abortion...especially Catholics. Abortion is a form of killing and it is stated in the bible, specifically in the 10 commandments that, "Thou shall not kill."

I am a Christian and I am against Abortion. However, not for religious reasons. My reasons have nothing to do with the bible and everything to do with responsibilty and consequences.
If you are old enough to have sex, you are old enough to face the consequences of your actions. If you always have a way out, then when will you start to take responsibilty for yourself? It is the same as repeat offenders, if they get off easy they continue to rob liquor stores. Its time we start taking responsibilty.

Yes, and no. Christians oppse the idea of abortion, however, the bible does not specificly say "no abortion". Being a christian myself, i see abortion as killing a life, and that killing a life is against my believes.
