None. Insectivores eat their weight in mosquitos and harmful agricultural pests, each and every day.
Seed-eating birds are often more interested in the seeds of noxious plants than they are in the GMO grains being produced today.
Vultures and seagulls are scavengers...OK so seagulls are messy but think what the garbage levels at the beach would be like if they didn't eat some of it. People dump garbage, not birds!
Pigeons can be controlled by humane trapping and administration of contraceptive-treated feed. (Yes pigeons are now a problem but the overpopulation was started by human pigeon-fanciers.)
Besides the birdsong and the beauty, birds have as much right to exist as any other creature.

There are many species of bird brought here to the USA by accident or because people though they should bring a bird from there homeland due to beauty or to remind them of home. For whatever reason it has cause great damage to native species, for instance they have bred in great numbers and have displaced native songbirds, by forcing them out of nesting space and over taken feeding grounds. Some of these species include the pigeon, starling and house sparrow. It is hard to think some species don't belong, but these species live a good strong life in their native home such as England. Here in the USA they have pushed some native species to the brink of extinction.

Why do you ask?
I felt that some were pests until I started rehabilitating wild birds and had one on one contact. I got to understand each species and now wouldn't eradicate any of them.
Everything has it's value in our ecosystem. If you eradicate one thing, it changes the system.
Pigeons are messy, but tamed ones are like kittens.
Starlings are extremely intelligent. They're related to the myna bird and mock and imitate more than the mockingbird. They can be taught to talk. I have six that do.
Crows eat dead things and can also be taught to talk. They can also understand what you're saying and like a dog, do what you tell them to.
You people who want to eradicate anything need to google them in and find out about them before you decide they're not important enough to share this planet with you.

Pest, lets see,the word itself is subjective. Some people are pests . Do we decide which ones and just get rid of them? I think unfortunately that has been tried!
I myself do not care for bees if they are flying around my yard but I sure like honey! Again you see it is so subjective.Your pest is not my pest and mine is not yours.
Oh and I abhor being any where near a bat but I glad that some of them consider mosquitoes a great meal!
Every living thing serves some purpose. Why not let all the birds live!

Every animal has its place somewhere but not everywhere as many seem to think. Native birds in their habitat fine. But introduced species should be removed as they pose a threat to native species which already have enough to worry about. In North America Pigeons, European starlings, house sparrows and the north eastern house finch population should be removed. Pigeons : Domestic animals which were released or escaped, they are boisterous, displace other birds and may carry disease affecting native species. European starlings : Native to Europe ,Introduced in the later half of the 19th century in New-York city by the shakespear society, these monsters have invaded most of north America, they steal nesting sites from native species, attack & kill nests/nestlings, compete for food etc. House sparrows, another european resident, they were introduced because they were suposed to eat all the pesky insects, however only 4% of their diest is composed of insects, now they compete and take over nesting sites of native species, they carry disease that may be harmfull to native birds etc. House finch I say only the north eastern population as this is where they were introduced in the 1960s, main reason I don't like them is they are displacing some native species, including the purple finch , which has difficulty competing with this more aggressive bird. No native bird should be erradicated from it's range, as they all have a role to play in their ecosystem, unlike introduced species. Tough I may be anti starling/house sparrow in North America, I have no problem with their kin in Europe nor do I have a problem with house finch in the south west united states where they are meant to be found.
Note: Rehabbers do not keep "rehabbed birds", nor teach them to talk or consider them as pets.

i do not consider any bird a pest. they all have a place in this world. if the pigeons bother you then move to a place with no pigeons. the same goes for any other bird.

None! I think that people should be eradicated more than birds. I think that the human race is more annoying than any bird species.
