Whirlpool owns Maytag now, and they also manufacture some of Kenmore's appliances, so, any of these would be six of one, and half a dozen of the other. The best thing to do would be to shop around, find the model(s) with the features you want, then compare prices. I'm not sure what appliances you're looking for, but, in my experiences, Whirlpools are damned hard to beat. Very few service issues on the whole, and dependable, and user-friendly common-sense features.
A lot of times, sales aren't all they're cracked up to be. Especially during the holidays. Retailers build up a big old frenzy to BUY BUY BUY! But, if you're using your head, compare prices from before the holidays to during. A lot of times, there's not that much of a difference.

I always think the best time to buy expensive items is the weekend after Thanksgiving. That is when I have always got the best deals. I have a Fridgedare refrigerator and have had no problems.. same goes for the Maytag washer and dryer I got last year.
Anyways, if there is a store that meets or beats all deals around you, find the cheapest price in the ads for Thanksgiving and take it over there and usually you can get the best price. (We have a place called ABC Warehouse around here that is that way).
As stated earlier, I wouldn't just replace something that works fine so you can save a few bucks.. if it's not broke, don't fix it =)

We own a side by side frigidaire and it seems to be a good brand but it was costly. Why don't you check with Best Buy before Christmas and ask them if possibly they might have some sales on the appliances after Christmas. If I remember correctly, they hardly ever move those prices down, but it doesn't hurt to ask.
If you are buying a fridge just remember if you have an ice maker and you lose power, to empty out the ice maker into your bathtub or outside. If you don't, and your out of power for awhile, the ice will melt onto your kitchen floor and you will have a mess.
Good Luck to you and I hope you can find a deal somewhere out there. If you have a local dealer in your area, ask them if they have sales after Christmas, if not go for it now.

With no offense, very realistically the BEST time is when you NEED any appliance, or know of its impending failure.
Sales or not, budget aside, surely you must realize NO real bargains exist.
