If you need to get somethign taken straight away go for a normal camera, digitals (other than the top of the range ones) have a lag before taking a picture, and that's on top of the time they take to power up

I have had several cameras, my favorite one is the Kodak Digital with the dock. It prints a beautiful picture. I much prefer digital now, I just download my pics, and print only what I need. I would recommend it to any one. Its affordable, lightweight, and easy to for the novice to use.

The difference between digital and 35 millimeter - You can get a good quality pic from both. A digital camera, you don't have to send your film away, you put your memory card right into your own computer, and "poof" you can view your pics. Its easier to store your pics on discs, than to have to fill Photo albums. You don't have to run to the store to buy film, with a memory card, you always have "film", I think it is more convenient and cheaper in the long run.

If you plan to take a lot of pictures digital is much cheaper in the long run. No processing costs nor film costs. You'd buy a digital camera plus MEMORY card. What ever you put on memory card
can be put on computer and re use card.

film-based cameras are completely out unless you are high-tech photography looking for a particular effect. digital is the only way to go nowadays not to mention the fact that I have 5 years of pictures stored on my computer which I can access at any time and print at any time and send to whom I want....
