I consider myself to have a pretty close relationship with my parents now. It hasn't always been that way. I had a terrible childhood and resented my parents for a long, long time. Now that I'm older and my parents are getting older I've realized what's important and we all try to accept each other for our differences. I think it's definitely worth it to work things out with your parents. They have always been there for me even though they were very rough when I was young.

My husband and I get along with our parents but we moved to the other side of the country so that we were too close or involved with their lives. So I guess I'd say not that close.

Like velcro. We may occasionally come apart, but we always come back together. :-) It's a good thing.
