Medellin, Colombia and its surroundings.

A city of nearly 3 million nestled in a valley deep enough that the airport was built on the plateau surrounding the valley. It's my childhood home, and I never appreciated how beautiful it was until I returned after not visiting for ten years. Brick buildings, manicured front yards, greenery everywhere.

Shopping malls and restaurants of such variety and range that anyone can find most anything to purchase and enjoy.

Art, architecture, and history, combining the rich colonial past with the rich future to come. Fernando Botero, Pedro Nel Gomez, and Anibal Gil all called Medellin their home and left their mark on the city and its people.

Soccer is a passion, with fans that fervorously follow their red-clad Independiente Medellin, or the white-and-green-stripes of Atletico Nacional. Through their ups and downs, the stadium is the most attended in percentage in the whole country.

Now drive for 35 minutes in any direction and you reach lush green mountains, field upon field of carnations, roses, coffee and bananas.

Warm, kind-hearted, helpful people only too eager for you to leave with a good impression of the city, the region, the country.

For those who follow latin music, all you need is one name: Juanes. A voice of the people, with the heart of a nation.

I invite you to visit. And enjoy!

Two places: Up in the mountain rain forests on the island of Oahu, Hawaii and the Alps and small towns in Zurich, Switzerland. Both places look exactly like any picture or postcard you've ever seen of them, but it's better live!
