To be honest he was more than likely just a man who had peace and love ideas based around aspects of Jewish religion. The fact that he claimed to be a son of God meant nothing as he also said we are all children of God. The whole thing was just blown out of proportion after his death. Considering the huge list of historic inaccuracies in the Bible I wouldn't be surprised.

Interesting way of looking at it - Braveheart, with Mel Gibson ~ many people had heard that William Wallace was seven feet tall but in the film he was under six foot. Wallace (Gibson) comes back at this claim with other things he's heard about himself - "Yes, I've heard. Kills men by the hundreds. And if HE were here, he'd consume the English with fireballs from his eyes, and bolts of lightning from his ****." I know this is a fictional representation of William Wallace but it demonstrates how people's abilities can be blow out of proportion by the populace

God the eternal Son became incarnate in Jesus Christ. Through Him all things were created, the character of God is revealed, the salvation of humanity is accomplished, and the world is judged. Forever truly God, He became also truly man, Jesus the Christ. He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He lived and experienced temptation as a human being, but perfectly exemplified the righteousness and love of God. By His miracles He manifested God's power and was attested as God's promised Messiah. He suffered and died voluntarily on the cross for our sins and in our place, was raised from the dead, and ascended to minister in the heavenly sanctuary in our behalf. He will come again in glory for the final deliverance of His people and the restoration of all things. (John 1:1-3, 14; Col. 1:15-19; John 10:30; 14:9; Rom. 6:23; 2 Cor. 5:17-19; John 5:22; Luke 1:35; Phil. 2:5-11; Heb. 2:9-18; 1 Cor. 15:3, 4; Heb. 8:1, 2; John 14:1-3.)

I believe that Jesus is the real Messiah. First there is more historical evidence to the existance of the man Jesus than for other historical figures, even George Washington. Even muslims acknoledge that Jesus was a great teacher.

If you take the Bible as a historical account there is no evidence of psycological disorders. If He wasn't crazy, He was a liar but there is no indication of this in the Bible or any historical document.

Another indication of the truth of Jesus death and resurrection is manner in wihich his followers conducted their lives after Jesus returned to heaven. They spent their lives traveling the known world to tell others of the "Good News of Jesus Christ" with very little benefit to themselves. Historical records indicate that all of them suffered torture and nearly all of them were put to death under the most hideous forms of execution known to man. Men will not die for something they know to be a lie. Most men will even recant truth to avoid such pain. But not the followers who walked with Jesus.

Lastly, let me point out that the Bible says the Messiah must be born of a virgin. This is another incredible idea to believe. The greatest evidence for this is found in the account of the torture and death of Jesus. If you saw "The Passion of the Christ" or read the Gospel accounts, you will see that Mary stayed silent. This is the greatest testimony to the virgin birth. If anyone knew that Jesus was born of a virgin, Mary knew. Any mother would clarity the origin of her son's birth to save him. Would you not go before the judge and say, "He is crazy, but don't kill him." " I lied don't kill." "He is a liar, don't kill him.!"

If you are interested in researching this further ther eis a whole discipline of study called apologetics which is the logical pursuit ot Biblical truth but remember it will never be a substiture for faith.

By the way, I think it is a good thing to question, to seek the truth for yourself. Seek your answers until you find them.

Jesus is the Messiah!
despite what Jews are trained and indoctrinated to believe, many jews do become christian. But Muslims have some exaltation of Jesus as a prophet too, so he cannot be So much as a false prophet. Was he crazy? I think all mortal humans have some amount of Corruptibility when it comes to Mental wellness. but resistence is not futile.
as for going to hell! LOL, if it was not for the atonement of the saviour NONE of us would enter the kingdom of God. Except to be judged.
For everyone that SERVES GOD the entire army of unrighteous warriors will fall upon the heads of those who seek to serve God righteously.
I bear witness of the glory of Jesus christ, i have and bare witness that Jesus is still alive and the gospel of christ is true. However there are many who claim to have the truth, I know I dont have all the truth, and yet those who claim the truth DONT KNOW truthfully what they know.

Jesus is messiah. I think a good point to look at is that the Bible is accurate as far as history goes. It is accurate in it's claims made on science. And Jesus is mentioned in Antiquities, Josephus, a first century historian.

If the Bible wasn't accurate in history, I would doubt it. If it was contradictory to science, I wouldn't believe it.

If you want a few specifics, e mail me and I can get back to you in a couple of days.

You must ask the Jewish people that! If christianity claims to be similar to Judaism, it's far from it because the Jews are looking for a messiah who fulfills the messianic prophecies! According to the Jews, Jesus didn't fulfill quite a few of them! So, who knows!

(with all due respect to the Jews)

I know Christ is the Savior of all mankind and that He is my Redeemer and He lives. Yes, He was a great man who did do his part (as well as a few other people's part) in making the world a better place.

I don't know if he was crazy, ill-intentioned, or misunderstood, but I do know that he wasn't the messiah. He simply did not fit the criteria -- and still doesn't, despite attempts by christian to shoe-horn him in.
